Who Are You?
You aren’t your stuff, the clothing that you wear, or the car you drive.
You aren’t your past, your parents, or your siblings.
You aren’t the bad things people say about you nor are you the bad things that you believe about yourself.
You aren’t your bank account.
You aren’t your illness, your disability, or your addictions.
You aren’t the number on the scale.
You aren’t your job.
Most importantly you aren’t that imagine that you try to project to the world.
You are a good person.
You are someone who deserves respect, kindness, and love.
You are beautiful, smart, funny.
You are someone’s daughter, son, wife, husband, mother, father, sister, brother, teacher or friend.
You are deserving.
You are amazing.
Most importantly you are you and that’s all you need to be.
You can be someone’s friend, mentor, or lover.
You can change someone’s life.
You can change your life.
You can believe in yourself, the goodness of humanity, and the kindness of strangers.
You can be open to the world around you.
You can choose to see the good in the world or see nothing but the evil.
You can choose to be a better person.
You can be the bigger person, the person who choses words over fists, the person who sees hope where there is none.
You can show people there are other ways than the ones we see.
Most importantly you can choose how you want to shape the world.
